romantic garden greenhouse wedding

Cristina & Igor were wed on a rainy June day in a greenhouse at Historic Shady Lane, Pennsylvania. The day before the wedding, I met up with them at Hingework Studio, in Lancaster PA. Cristina & her gals helped the florist make the leafy garlands for the reception tables, and I photographed her perfect little details in the yummiest window light. After this, they treated me to a rice + smoothie bowl from a local shop down the street, followed by a girls night at the hotel where we watched Belle and munched on copious amounts of sweets.

The inspiration for the day, and inspo for all the decor, was an overgrown vintage garden feel. Cristina is really inspired by greenery + Ivy, distressed walls, and vintage windows, and this venue had all of these characteristics! The ceremony was originally planned to be outside, in front of the greenhouse, but with the off and on/unpredictable rain, about an hour prior to the ceremony, everything was moved inside the greenhouse. To honor their parents and to represent their culture, Cristina & Igor had the ceremony spoken fully in Ukrainian. “It was awesome to hear and say our vows in our native language. We also actually enjoyed the rain — it gave the already beautiful greenhouse, an even more romantic feel. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the whole room!”

The day after the wedding, Cristina, Igor, Lexi and I, headed to a fall nestled in northern Maryland to shoot some next day bridals — & just so you’re not scrolling forever, there is a separate journal post of these to come!

This was one of the most lovely weekends to be a part of. Cristina, Igor, & their people treated me like family, and that is something I will cherish forever! Love you two to pieces, C & I.
